When attacked with a weak weapon,Zols have the ability to split into two Gels, which are smaller versions of Zols. Gels are circular, often green or red blobs that tend to bounce aimlessly around wherever they are found. They appear within Labyrinth, as seen inThe Legend of Zelda, or across the overworld, as seen inLink's Awakening. Sometimes, Gels can appear without the presence of Zols. InThe Legend of Zelda, Gels never drop any items when defeated. Gels inLink's Awakening,Oracle of Seasons,Oracle of Ages, andPhantom Hourglass do not cause damage, but can attach themselves toLink's body.
