Features and Overview

The Fortress contains fourLevels, and can be accessed through theLevel Selection screen once all three of theLinks step onto theTriforce Gateway in one of the lobbies ofHytopia Castle.[note 1] The Area will be accessible if all four of the prior Areas have been cleared.[note 2]

The massive Fortress is heavily guarded by a variety ofLady Maud'sSoldiers. The Links enter at its base and proceed to scale it upwards toward Lady Maud's parlour, meeting with a variety of complex, mechanical obstacles along the way, which will require a great deal of cooperation andcommunication amongst the heroes.

The Fortress'sMini-Bosses, fought in theBomb Storage Level, are the threeHinox Brothers. ItsBosses, fought inThe Lady's Lair, are the threeLady's Pets, which are variants of the previously-battledMargoma,Moldorm, andArrghus. After defeating them for the first time, Link finds theLady's Collar inside aTreasure Chest. If all prior Areas have also been completed, then the following two Areas—The Dunes andThe Ruins—are then unlocked.

Notes

  1. Prior to the closure of Nintendo 3DS multiplayer servers, opting to meet with random "unknown heroes" online would require the player to select an Areabefore they are connected to other players.
  2. Players who have not unlocked the Fortress can still access the Area by selecting "I can't decide!" while another player selects the Fortress, or by having the Fortress win the roulette to decide amongst the players' Area selections.
