Fighters are recurring characters inThe Legend of Zelda series, all originally from their own individual franchises. In Super Smash Bros., they are who the player controls and fights as. Many characters fromThe Legend of Zelda make appearances as playable characters in Super Smash Bros., such as Link and Zelda. Although no Fighters not debuting inThe Legend of Zelda have any roles story-wise, there have been some that were present in the games as Easter eggs.

InSuper Smash Bros., also called Smash 64 or just 64 by Super Smash Bros. fans, the only character from 'The Legend of Zelda' who appears on the roster is Link. The character other than Link on the Smash 64 roster who made cameo appearances in Zelda games to be released on thedisplay=same console is Mario. He was an Easter egg found inOcarina of Time in a portrait alongside other stars from his franchise andMajora's Mask as one of theHappy Mask Salesman'sMasks on his pack.
