A Link to the Past

FromA Link to the Past onward, Maps are found insideTreasure Chests. They have the property to indicate which roomsLink has already visited, by displaying them in a brighter color than any rooms not yet visited.[1] Additionally, the player can navigate between the various floors of theDungeon while viewing the Map.
Link's Awakening

Ocarina of Time

Dungeon Maps inOcarina of Time function relatively the same as in previous installments. Due to the complex nature of the 3D environment, individual rooms can span multiple floors.
The model for the Dungeon Map features a drawn layout of the second Dungeon,Dodongo's Cavern. This was changed inOcarina of Time 3D.
Majora's Mask

Dungeon Maps inMajora's Mask function as the same as in previous installments. Their model is reused fromOcarina of Time, so the map still shows the layout ofDodongo's Cavern.

The Minish Cap
Each of the sixDungeons inThe Minish Cap have a Dungeon Map, with each one contained in a large blueChest. They are displayed on theMap Screen in place of theMap of Hyrule wheneverLink is inside the relevant Dungeon. Rooms that Link has visited are a lighter shade of blue, while rooms he has not visited are darker blue; the room he is currently in blinks on the Dungeon Map.[3]
Twilight Princess

Dungeon Maps function as they have previously. All Dungeon Map screens feature aSymbol associated with its respectiveDungeon. These are theCrest of the Kokiri for theForest Temple, theCrest of the Gorons for theGoron Mines, theCrest of the Zora forLakebed Temple, a horn-like Symbol for theArbiter's Grounds, aSword andShield symbol for theSnowpeak Ruins, theLight Medallion for theTemple of Time, theOocca's Symbol for theCity in the Sky, and theCrest of the Twili for thePalace of Twilight.
Skyward Sword
