The Legend of Zelda
Aquamentus is a one-horned Dragon and the first Dragon encountered in theThe Legend of Zelda series, serving as theBoss ofLevel 1 andLevel 7, as well as being aSub-Boss during theSecond Quest. A multi-headed Dragon,Gleeok, is a Boss fought inLevel 4 with two heads,Level 6 with three heads as a Sub-Boss, and with four heads inLevel 8.
The Adventure of Link
Barba, also known as Volvagia,[5] is the Boss ofThree-Eye Rock Palace, and acts as a guardian of theStatue within it.
Ocarina of Time
Volvagia is the boss of theFire Temple. It is a serpentineFire Dragon that dives in and out of theLava in its arena.[2]
Oracle of Seasons
Aquamentus returns as a boss enemy inOracle of Seasons.
Oracle of Ages
Swoop is a red, winged Dragon found in theWing Dungeon as aSub-Boss. It is named for its preferred tactic of swooping down at trespassers to attack them.[6]
The Wind Waker
Valoo is a supporting character who appears on the top ofDragon Roost Island. In the game's events, he is unable to grant theRito their ability to grow wings due to being hurt byGohma and Link must defeat the giant scorpion. Later in the game, Valoo aids Link and Tetra in escapingGanondorf.
The Minish Cap
Gleerok is a lava dragon that serves as the boss of the second dungeon.
Twilight Princess
Argorok is the boss in theCity in the Sky. Argorok appears as a red-orange wyvern covered in black armor.
Skyward Sword
Eldin,Faron, andLanayru are protectors of theSurface and each teachLink part of theSong of the Hero.
A Link Between Worlds
TheGemesaur King is a quadrupedal Dragon that serves as theBoss of theDark Palace. It resembles theHelmasaur King fromA Link to the Past. The Gemesaur King is covered in colorful gems and scales, and can see well in theDarkness.[7]
Breath of the Wild
The three Dragons inBreath of the Wild are invincible and appear in various places throughoutHyrule. While not intending to harmLink, their bodies shed orbs of their element which can harm him. They can be harvested for theirHorns,Scales,Claws, andFang Shards forEnhancingArmor.Dinraal has the power ofFire and frequentsTanagar Canyon and northernEldin.Farosh has the power ofElectricity and frequentsGerudo Highlands andLake Floria.Naydra has the power ofIce and frequentsMount Lanayru andLanayru Road. Naydra initially appears at the summit of Mount Lanayru infected asMalice Naydra and must be freed from theMalice before she can appear regularly.
TheZonai are thought to have worshiped a water Dragon.[8] Many DragonStatues decorateZonai Ruins, which were used by them to represent theTriforce of Courage.[9]
Tears of the Kingdom
In addition toDinraal,Farosh, andNaydra, two additional immortal Dragons known as theLight Dragon andDemon Dragon can be found. The Light Dragon flies high in theSkies aboveHyrule and theDemon Dragon serves as the finalBoss.Flame,Frost, andThunder Gleeoks also appear asSub-Bosses. A more powerful type ofGleeok known asKing Gleeoks have a combination of each elemental head.
A mortal being can become an immortal Dragon by swallowing aSecret Stone.[10] However, this destroys the being's sense of self, and this process is thought to be irreversible.[11]
