Bubbul Gems areKey Items that are dropped by defeatedBubbulfrogs, which areCreatures found in theCaves scattered throughoutHyrule.[1] Each Cave has only one Bubbulfrog, meaning only one Bubbul Gem can be acquired per Cave. If a Bubbulfrog is defeated and its Bubbul Gem is not picked up before Link leaves the area, then the Bubbulfrog will need to be defeated again in order to acquire the Bubbul Gem. Upon acquiring the Bubbul Gem within a Cave, any discovered entrances for that Cave will receive a checkmark on thePurah Pad'sMap.

Bubbul Gems can be traded toKoltin forMonster Parts andArmor.[2] The first trade is part of the "The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!"Side Adventure which can be started by interacting with Koltin outside thePico Pond Cave in theEldinRegion.Link will be tasked with entering the Cave and retrieving the Bubbul Gem from the Bubbulfrog inside. Upon speaking withKoltin, Link will be able to trade the Bubbul Gem for aBokoblin Mask.[3]

After completing the Side Adventure, Koltin can be found in various locations across Hyrule. As part of the "Bubbul Gems"Additional Adventure, he will make the following trades:

Once Link has traded 46 Bubbul Gems to Koltin and obtained theMystic Headpiece, Koltin will ask Link to find the remaining 101 Bubbul Gems even though he has no rewards left to give him.[4] If Link collects the remaining Gems and gives them to Koltin, he will give Link theKoltin's Fabric and ask him to show it to his brother,Kilton.[5] Koltin then transforms into aBlupee and disappears.
