p-adic strings, the Weil conjectures and anomalies.(English)Zbl 0694.22006

Summary: An analogy between the Veneziano amplitude and the p-adic interpolation of the beta-function is suggested as the basis of a new p-adic quantum geometry. Relationships with the Weil conjectures, Fermat curves and anomalies are discussed.
