This is a set of three documents: Tiny Intro, Tiny RPG, and Tiny GM. They are tools for playing RPGs solo with a deck of cards, a notebook and pencil. Each document is very short, taking up 1 or 2 pages. It's handy for playing games when you're sitting on the bus, have a lot of free time at work, or just like simple tools and little to no prep.

Tiny Intro goes over how to play an RPG solo, and has some tips and advice. Tiny GM is a collection of generator tables for just about any genre of play and any ruleset, and Tiny RPG is a set of light rules for those who don't already have a ruleset they prefer.

There are pdfs of each, and also the MS Word files if you like to homebrew. The fonts used are default system fonts to keep that process as easy as possible.

In my 15 years of experience playing with a regular RPG group, having a beautiful book full of rules can take away from the actual experience of playing the game. I also have a ton of RPG books that I've never played! Tiny Solo is a condensed, no-frills game meant to aid your imagination and actually be played.

You'll get out what you put in. You can start a character and a story very quickly, but the more prep you put in, the longer your campaign is likely to last. And you will get better at playing with a bit of practice.

How I Start A Game: 

I will often start a session with the "So, We Begin..." table in Tiny GM. I'll add details to that scenario using the other tables, until I have an idea of what kind of game this is. Only then will I create a character. Sometimes, I'll create a pair of characters. If the starting scenario and characters stick with me beyond the session, I will start to develop the setting of the game further.
