Introducing the Perk System!

Hi all,

I would like to showcase the Perk System for Last Fuse, a way to gain upgrades across all runs and customize your favourite playstyles!

Perk System

The victory rewards will be revamped. Whenever you win or lose, you will get a new currency: Perk Fragments.

Perk Fragments can be used to upgrade perks.


Perk Categories

Perks are categorized into different types (noted by colour):

  1. Pink: Industry
  2. Blue: Building & Construction
  3. Red: Combat
  4. Green: Research & Upgrades (will be available later when Quark Labs are added)

You start off being able to equip 3 perks, but eventually the cap can be increased through several ways. Some ideas I have are:

  • When you beat the game for the first time on a bomb type
  • When you beat the game on a higher difficulty (any bomb type)
  • Every X number of achievements

(Yes, I am also working onAchievementsfor the game, and I want them to give rewards as well ideally!)

Perks will be exclusive to the premium (paid) version of the game, which I'll be releasing on itch.io this weekend! It will have two exclusive content:

  • Perk System
  • Islands

Both are still in early preview, but I am continuing to improve and iterate on them, so expect the game to have new perks and more island variety as time progresses. However as a start, there are already a number of perks that allows experimenting with different builds.
