RockwarblerOrigma solitaria | 3:26 | Gary Warner | 2012-10-14 | 15:00 | Australia | Glenorie, New South Wales | 0 | call, contact call and response | Pair of Origma solitaria hawking insects along a sandstone ledge, amongst heath species including grevillea buxifolia, hakea sericea, isopogon aneminofolius, lambertia formosa. The birds moved between the exposed sandstone, entering crevices and openings, and lower branches of bordering shrubs. Fine warm sunny afternoon. | ![]() ![]() | XC133072![]()
RockwarblerOrigma solitaria | 4:02 | Gary Warner | 2013-03-23 | 11:30 | Australia | Glenorie, New South Wales | 0 | alarm call, call | Pair of Origma solitaria excitedly flitting about and vocalising in the sandstone cave/overhang where their current hanging nest was located. I was standing, precariously, on a boulder beneath the cave ledge and could only intermittently see the pair as they flew into and out of my narrow field of sight into the cave above. They appeared agitated, quickly hopping and fluttering to and fro on the floor of the cave underneath their nest. It is possible there was a third Origma present, as I've witnessed this excited behaviour and calling before in response to a third, presumably male bird, interrupting the activities of a nesting pair. Fine sunny morning. Other species very nearby included brown thornbill, olive-backed oriole, grey fantail, eastern yellow robin, treecreeper and golden whistler. | ![]() ![]() | XC133071![]()
