Area and habitat: Grove of deciduous tress, mainly oak, birch, maple, surrounded by fields and mixed-forest areas.

Bird observations: A Eurasian Wryneck calls from the canopy of a deciduous tree. A second Wryneck is heard calling in response some distance away.

Weather conditions: Clear skies. Temperature: 8°C/46.4°F. Light southwesterly wind.
