Travelling on a YRT, Brampton Transit or TTC Route in York Region |
- You must pay the cash fare, tap a PRESTO, credit or debit card, or show your mobile ticket (PRESTO E-Tickets) to the driver
- TTC-contracted routes operating in York Region include: TTC Routes 17A, 68B, 102D, 129A and 160; customers must pay YRT fare on these TTC routes when travelling north of Steeles Avenue
- Customers may use their YRT transfer on TTC routes south of Steeles Avenue or the TTC subway using a PRESTO, credit or debit card payment on a PRESTO device (same applies for the reverse trip). If you are travelling on a TTC route crossing the Steeles Avenue boundary (listed above), please tap on and off the TTC bus; you will not be charged another fare within the two-hour transfer window. - TTC PRESTO tickets are not accepted on any YRT or TTC route operating in York Region (north of Steeles Avenue)
- When paying with PRESTO on board a Brampton 501 Zum bus, a Brampton Transit fare will be deducted, even if you are boarding in York Region
Transferring to Another YRT, Viva, Brampton Transit or TTC Route in York Region:- If you pay with cash fare on a YRT, Brampton Transit or TTC route in York Region, remember to ask for a transfer when you board the first bus
- If using PRESTO with an e-purse (money value) loaded, the PRESTO machine will recognize your two-hour transfer when you tap your card
- If using the PRESTO E-Tickets app, your mobile ticket acts as your transfer
- If using credit or debit card, the PRESTO machine will recognize your two-hour transfer when you tap your card (note: it must be the same credit or debit card that you used to purchase your fare on the first bus)

Travelling on a Viva Route |
- Viva operates on a pre-paid, proof-of-payment system. There are no fare boxes on Viva so you must purchase a ticket, tap your PRESTO card, credit or debit card on the PRESTO machine, or activate your mobile ticket at the vivastation or terminal before boarding
- If you are using a single-ride ticket (purchased at the vivastation or terminal), the date and expiry time are printed on it at the time of purchase
- Hold onto your ticket or transfer, or present your PRESTO card, credit or debit card, or mobile device when Transit Enforcement asks for proof of payment
Transferring to a YRT, Brampton Transit or TTC Route in York Region:- If you have a single-ride ticket or e-transfer, show it to the driver
- If using PRESTO, credit or debit card, tap your card on the PRESTO device next to the driver; your continuous travel and transfer is automatically calculated
- If using the PRESTO E-Tickets app, show the driver your activated mobile ticket and tap the screen to show that the fare is valid

Travelling on Rapidways |
- Vivastations along the rapidway have a designated area for purchasing fares. After purchasing your fare, you will be able to wait in the Fare Paid Zone to board Viva vehicles
- Proof of payment is required inside the Fare Paid Zone
- Customers inside the Fare Paid Zone without valid fare may be subject to a fine or criminal charge
