Celebrating The Winter Olympics 2026

Get into The Olympic Spirit with us! This year, The Winter Olympic Games are co-hosted by the cities Milano and Cortina in Italy from Friday, February 6 to Sunday February 22. When you visit one of our library locations over the 16 days of the XXV Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, you’ll find many fun ways to celebrate Team Canada and all the athletes and countries participating in The Winter Olympics.

Activities happening at WPL locations include:

  • Complete a scavenger hunt with Milo and Tina, the Olympic and Paralympic Games mascots
  • Colour an Olympic and Paralympic-themed large format colouring sheet or small colouring sheet
  • Look in our online Events Calendar for a Watch Party at the Main Library or Eastside Branch
  • Watch the Olympics for free on the screens in our library branches, every open day from 10 am – 5 pm.
  • Browse and borrow our selection of winter-sports themed books on ourwebsite and on display at our locations
  • Watch the medal count for Team Canada climb up and up on our interactive Medal Counts, available at all locations
  • Get help setting up your own CBC Gem account so that you can watch the Olympic and Paralympic Games for free at home on your own device

Please note: Not all activities will be available at all locations, at all times.

Don’t forget, The Paralympic Games take place March 6th to 15th, 2026. We’ll be announcing Watch Parties for The Paralympic Games soon – keep an eye on our online events calendar.
