- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2015One of the most enlightening, wonderfully written and beautifully photographed books I have ever owned. The exhibit at the British Museum must be the most comprehensive ever presented on Celtic life. Although we can't see the exhibit in person it is delightful way to experience with the book. The details and explanations of the pieces are extraordinary. Heavy stock photo pages exquisitely presented to the reader.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2016A wonderful overview of Celtic history; great writing on current historical understanding -- with pictures too! A good purchase for art and history lovers, particularly if you are wondering about who your ancestors were before they were British, Scottish, or Irish. Buy it for the pictures, but don't forget to read the text.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2016Gorgeous photos and very readable text. The latest in research on who exactly we mean when we talk about "the Celts." I look forward to seeing the exhibit in Edinburgh.

En 2016 pude disfrutar de la exposición en Edinburgo y quedé muy satisfecho. Este libro hace justicia a la exposición y la historia de los vikingos. - EmilieReviewed in France on February 6, 2016

Recommandé pour tous les amoureux de l'art celte mais aussi antique. Différentes facettes mises en valeur, textes fouillés, riches perspectives. - Tanee58Reviewed in the United Kingdom on November 27, 2015
5.0 out of 5 starsWonderful!
Great catalogue of a wonderful exhibition. Loads to read and the pictures are very inspiring. Recommended for anyone interested in Celtic art and culture. If you get to the exhibition itself, don't miss the opportunity to listen to the fearful voice of the carnyx! - Art BuffReviewed in the United Kingdom on December 2, 2015
