Tips for Riding Metro to Events

• Buy multiple farecards more quickly and easily by using the Passes/Farecards machine at Metrorail stations.
• Buy round-trip fare when first entering the system.
• Spread out on the train platform to reduce crowding.
• When attending events at the Capital One Arena, use other Metrorail stations in the vicinity, includingMetro Center,Judiciary Square, andArchives.
• Listen to station and train announcements. Check the final destination displayed on the side of the train to be sure you're boarding the right train.

Nationals Park

Nationals Park, located in southeast Washington along the Anacostia River, is the home of the Washington Nationals. Metrorail Service

Nationals Park is only 0.4 miles from theNavy Yard-Ballpark station on the Green line. TheNationals Ballpark entrance (West entrance) will be exit-only, starting three hours before games, and entrance-only after games. During games, the Navy Yard StationNew Jersey Ave entrance (East entrance) should be used by riders traveling in the opposite direction of the crowds.

Audi Field

Metrorail Service

Green Line is the best way to get to the game at Audi Field using the Waterfront or Navy Yard stations, just a short 10 or 15-minute walk to the field.

Metrobus Service

Metrobus bus routes that stop closest to the stadium are:C11,C31, andC55. Connect to Metrorail at Gallery Place Chinatown, Archives, L'enfint Plaza, Waterfront, or Navy Yard.

Filene Center at Wolf Trap

The Wolf Trap Filene Center Express Shuttle, operated byFairfax Connector, offers roundtrip service fromMcLean Station to all Filene Center* summer performances.

Bus service begins 2 hours prior to showtime and runs every 20 minutes until the performance starts. Buses back to McLean Station leave Wolf Trap 20 minutes after the show, but no later than:

• 10:45 pm Sunday - Thursday
• 11:20 pm Friday - Saturday

These departure times reflect changes inMetrorail closing times.

*Exceptions: Bus service is not available for performances at The Barns at Wolf Trap, Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, or the Holiday Sing-A-Long at the Filene Center.

Parking is also available atMcLean Station. Weekday rates are $3 for the first 90 minutes, max $6. Weekend day rate is $2. Rates subject to change.

Metrorail Service to Northwest Stadium

Morgan Boulevard Station on the Silver or Blue Line is the closest station to Northwest Stadium. The station is nine-tenths of a mile from the stadium and a pedestrian walkway offers direct access to the stadium. TheDowntown Largo Metrorail station, also on the Silver or Blue Line, is one mile away from the stadium.

Parking Procedures at Morgan Boulevard and Downtown Largo

For any Non-Rider, there is a $15.00 Special Event Parking Fee at Morgan Blvd. and Downtown Largo during events at Northwest Stadium. Metrorail riders who use the same SmarTrip card to ride to Morgan Blvd. or Downtown Largo and exit the parking facility will be charged the standard parking rates in effect upon exiting. A qualifying Metro ride is one that begins at a station other than Downtown Largo, Morgan Blvd, Addison Road, Capitol Heights, or Benning Road. For example, a rider traveling from Stadium-Armory to Morgan Blvd has taken a qualifying trip and would pay regular parking rates ($5.10 on weekdays, free on weekends); however, a rider who boards at Downtown Largo and exits at Morgan Blvd would be subject to the $15 Special Event Parking Fee during stadium events.

The $15 rate is in effect at the time of Kick Off and remains in effect until two hours after the event. This fee ensures that a market-based parking fee is charged to patrons attending these events.

Capital One Arena

The Capital One Arena, between 6th, 7th, and F Streets, NW, hosts more than 200 events a year, and is home to the WashingtonCapitals,Mystics, andWizards and theGeorgetown Hoyas.

Patriot Center

George Mason University's Patriot Center hosts a wide array of sporting and cultural events. Visit thePatriot Center's home page for a list of upcoming events, directions, tickets, and other information. Ride Metro to the Patriot Center by taking an Orange Line train to theVienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail station, then ride the connecting CUE buses Green 1, 2 or Gold 1, 2 located at the bus bays just outside the station entrance. Smith Center

George Washington University's Charles E. Smith Center is home to GW men's and women's basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics and many concerts and other special events. The Smith Center, which seats 5,000 spectators, serves the University as well as the neighboring Foggy Bottom community. Located just two blocks south of theFoggy Bottom-GWU Metrorail station at 22nd and G Streets, NW, Smith Center is easily accessible via Metrorail's Orange, Silver and Blue Lines. Visit theCharles E. Strathmore

Located one-half mile outside the Capital Beltway in North Bethesda, MD,Strathmore provides affordable, accessible, multi-disciplinary arts programming in the Mansion at Strathmore, the Music Center at Strathmore, at AMP by Strathmore, and on its scenic 16-acre site. Strathmore is located immediately adjacent to theGrosvenor-Strathmore Metro station, on the Red Line.
