Slayer to headline 2025 Louder Than Life after weather canceled this year's set

After rain canceled Slayer's headlining show at Louder Than Life, the festival announced they're going to come back for another try.The metal band, which has been around since the '80s, was scheduled to play just three reunion shows in 2024.But rain brought in by Hurricane Helene canceled Friday, day two, of the festival, which Slayer was supposed to headline.Now, the festival says Slayer fans will get another chance to see the band rock out in Louisville.“We can’t wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer,” Danny Wimmer, of Danny Wimmer Presents, said in a news release.So far, no other acts have been confirmed, but Wimmer says they hope to reveal more this winter."It’s going to be epic, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September,” he said. Once again, the festival will be at the Highland Festival Grounds at Kentucky Exposition Center. The dates for next year will be Sept. 18-21.Louder Than Life celebrated its 10th festival this year.
