Rent the country of Liechtenstein for $70,000 a night

Airbnb is perhaps best known for providing a platform that enables people to rent out their room, flat or even just their sofa to willing tourists. However, if you need a bit more room it now lets you rent out entire towns and even countries.

Following a deal with Liechtenstein-based event production and marketing company Rent a Village by Xnet, Airbnb customers can now take your pick from one six Austrian villages, three German towns, oneSwiss ski-resort and the Principality of Liechtenstein.

For a cool $70,000 a night (for a minimum of two nights), you can hire the tinycountry of Liechtenstein, which measures around 61.7 square miles and has just 35,000 inhabitants. According to the profile on Airbnb, Liechtenstein can accommodate between 450 and 900 people, has 500+ bedrooms and 500+ bathrooms. Thecancellation policy is classified as "Super Strict", which means you get a 50% refund after booking if you cancel up until 30 days prior to arrival. Otherwise you don't get a refund.

For $65,000 you can also rent the Austrianvillage of Alpbach in the Tyrolean Alps. It only has 300+ bedrooms and 300+ bathrooms, so represents slightly less value for money than hiring Liechtenstein.

Airbnb's new offer follows last year's attempt by Snoop Dogg to rent Liechtenstein to shoot amusic video. He was rebuffed because his management did not give enough prior warning.
