A warm welcome to the
Wildlife Sound Recording Society (WSRS).

Founded in 1968, we turned 50 in 2018
Probably the oldest sound recording society in existence in the world!

The Society welcomes anyone of any age and from anywhere in the world.
If you are …

  • Just starting out and getting interested in natural sounds,
  • Or a naturalist/birdwatcher wishing to capture the sounds of wildlife for pleasure,
  • Or a seasoned sound engineer wishing to enjoy the natural world,
  • Or an artist looking to incorporate wildlife sounds into your sound installation,

we are here to assist you, to help you record and learn about the sounds made by wildlife and the natural world.
