Research Notes
The children ofJames Ussher andJane Donellan and those of Beverley Ussher (apparently their son) and Melian Roche are confused in various sources, including:
- Burke's Landed Gentry of Ireland (1912, p. 717);
- Burke's Irish Family Records (1976, pp. 1156-7);
- thepeerage.com;
- etc.
The seven daughters attributed to the first couple in the 1976 version were all attributed to the second couple in the 1912 version.
However, they include two surviving Isabellas (Mrs. Dalton and Mrs. Blackall) and two surviving Janes (Mrs. Boate and Mrs. Odell), so probably comprise a mixture of daughters of both sets of parents.
