Biography

Alice Spivey was the second wife of Joseph Thomas.^[1] The name of her father is not determined; but it is known that their were several Spiveys in the area, namely, George, James, and Thomas.^[1] There was also a John Spivey who was the father of the below mentioned Littleton Spivey.^[2]

• "Littleton Spivey, to John Benton. Tract of land, 40 acres, where John Spivey, father of said Littleton, lately lived and died, adjoining land of his brother John Spivey; October 30, 1733. Test, Moses Conlon, William Morgan."

There are records of Alice purchasing land, on 13 November 1738, fromLittleton Spivey (relationship not determined, but perhaps brother or nephew), and gifting that land to her "well beloved son Luke" two years later on 29 December 1740.^[1] She is presumed to have died before 1758 as she is not mentioned in her son's will of that date.^[1]
