Biography
There is a Jonathan Job listed in Russell County, Virginia, in the 1820 census. William Jordan and Covith Jordan also lived there at the time. William and Covith are likely relatives of Jonas Jordan, who later married Jonathan Job’s daughter. It seems like the Job and Jordan families moved together from Russell County, VA., to Lawrence County, Kentucky.
Jonathan Job is listed as a head of household in the 1830 and 1840 Federal Census in Lawrence County, Kentucky. In 1850, he is listed in the household of his daughter Lydia, and her husband Jonas Jordan.[1]
Jonathan was born in 1775. Jonathan Jobe ... He passed away after 1850.[2]
