Robert Virgil Harris was born August 8, 1896 in Hardeman County, Tennessee. He was the son ofJohn Douglas Harris andMary Roxanna Malone.

In the 1900 census Robert (age 3) was living with his parents and 7 siblings in Civil District 18, Chester County, Tennessee. His parents were farmers.^[1]

In the 1910 census Robert (age 14) was living with his parents and 4 siblings in Civil District 7, Hardeman County, Tennessee.^[2]

Robert registered for the World War I draft in 1917-1918 in McNairy, Tennessee.^[3] At the time he was described as having a slender build and medium height. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He was living in Finger, Tennessee at the time.^[4] On September 5, 1918, Robert was ordered to report to Camp Wadsworth.^[5] On September 29, 1918, Robert departed the Army for Tennessee.^[6]

In the 1920 census Robert (age 23) was living as a farm laborer in Civil District 11, Chester County, Tennessee.^[7]

In 1943 Robert was living in San Diego, California.^[8]

Robert (age 76) passed away on October 29, 1972 in San Diego, California.^{[9][10][11][12][13]}
