Matthew was born on 30 April 1911 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.^[1]

Emigration: 9 September 1915 in Aboard the "RMS Saxon". Travels from Natal via Cape Town Natal to Tilbury, Essex with family.^[2]

In June 1921 Matthew (age 10) was living in Welborne, East Dereham, Norfolk, England.^[1]

Matthew served in the military from 1938 to 1946 in Home > India > Far East. Pilot Officer [regular] > Flight Lieutenant > Air Commodore Far East/Royal Air Force, Transport Command.^[3]

Fact: 21 November 1942 in Holy Trinity Church, Karachi, Sindh, India.^[4]

Fact: 10 February 1945 in Norwich Probate.^[5]

When Matthew was 36 he married Gwendoline Joyce Fletcher in September 1947 inChatham, Kent, England.^[6]

Matthew died at the age of 82 between December 1993 and March 1994 in North Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, England.^[7]
