Bobby Darin] (born, married & died Walden Robert Cassotto) was an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, impressionist, and actor in film and television. He performed jazz, pop, rock and roll, folk, swing, and country music.
Walden Robert Cassotto was born May 14, 1936 in the Bronx, New York City, New York, the son ofNina Cassotto.
In the 1940 Census, he was 3 years old, living with hismother Paula age 46 and hissister, Vanina (Nina) age 22:[1]
It wasn't until 1968 that Bobby learned that his sister Nina was actually his mother and that the woman that he thought was his mother his whole life was actually his grandmother.
His1st marriage was to Sandra Dee in 1960 -- they met while filmingCome September (which was released in 1961) and in late 1961, they had their only child, a son. They officially divorced on March 7, 1967.
HIs2nd marriage was to Andrea J. Yaeger on June 25, 1973 in Sacramento, California. He was 37 years old and she was 32.[2]They were divorced in October 1973.
Bobby died asWalden R. Cassotto on December 20, 1973 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 37.[3]His body was donated to medical science, specifically to UCLA Medical School.[4]
