All this time, those of us who are both science fiction fans and genealogy geeks have been waiting for somebody to invent a means of travelling back in time so we can finally get decent sources for certain frustrating people who we just can't trace, and apparently, it's already been done.
Consider the curious case of Moses McElwain, who, according to a couple of sites that I've seen, was born in 1756, then travelled back in time to 1740 to marry Agnes Miller, and then died in 1760. That's an impressive feat. If only he'd left notes on how he did it.
(After all, this information appears on the internet, so it must be true, right? It couldn't possibly be a matter of people making wild guesses because they don't have, you know, sources to work from, now could it?)
And, yes, it's actually Agnes, and her father James, who I'm actually interested in, because they're Millers, and Miller is one of the surnames I'm working on this month.
