30min | Using the Beam-me-up tool to fuse Wikidata information into FactGrid Tim Holzheim's Beam-me-up tool is one of the most used gadgets in FactGrid. It fuses Wikidata information into FactGrid on selective requests. It understands the languages of both Wikibases, and it is able to create or augment items where needed. The tight alignment with Wikidata speeds up work on FactGrid, it helps us to avoid double records (as our Wikibase does not allow to link to a same Wikidata item from two of our items), and it enhances our readability in the upcoming world of federated queries and knowledge graphs. Not everyone, however, is happy with the consequences since FactGrid is not designed to act as a Wikidata copy - nor do we know whether we want to support the Wikidata data modelling throughout our base. Speakers:Olaf Simons |
