Wikidata is a free and open knowledge base that can be read and edited by both humans and machines.

Wikidata acts as central storage for thestructured data of its Wikimedia sister projects including Wikipedia, Wikivoyage, Wiktionary, Wikisource, and others.

Wikidata also provides support to many other sites and services beyond just Wikimedia projects! The content of Wikidata isavailable under a free license,exported using standard formats, andcan be interlinked to other open data sets on the linked data web.

• 2025-07-15: The nextWikidata+Wikibase office hours will take place on Wednesday, 16th July 2025,16:00 UTC in theWikidata Telegram group. The Wikidata and Wikibase office hours are online events where the development team presents what they have been working on over the past quarter, and the community is welcome to ask questions and discuss important issues related to the development of Wikidata and Wikibase.
• 2025-06-19:Search by entity type goes live. The new Wikidata Search box is typeahead compatible and searches can be limited to only show results for Items, Properties, Lexemes or EntitySchema. See theoriginal announcement.
