The new film based on the songs of Take That had its world premiere on Thursday night (June 15). Greatest Days is a jukebox musical telling the story of a group of friends who meet up again after years apart to attend a reunion concert of their favourite boyband.
Starring Aisling Bea, Alice Lowe, Amaka Okafor and Jayde Adams, the movie was executive produced by Take That's current line-up - Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen - with a script by Tim Firth, known for writing Calendar Girls. The film is based on an earlier stage show which was originally called The Band before being retitled to Greatest Days.
The movie's official synopsis says: "Greatest Days follows five best friends who have the night of their lives seeing their favourite boy band in concert. Twenty-five years later their lives have changed in many different ways as they reunite for one more epic show by their beloved band, to relight their friendship and discover that maybe their greatest days are ahead of them."
Take That performed ahead of the premiere and the occasion was beamed to cinemas in advance of the film's nationwide release. Stars took to the red (or rather purple in this case) carpet too - see a selection of photos from the star-studded event in London's Leicester Square below.
