Definition and Usage
Themargin-inline property specifies the margin at the start and end in the inline direction, and is a shorthand property for the following properties:
Values for themargin-inline property can be set in different ways:
If the margin-inline property has two values:
- margin-inline: 10px 50px;
- margin at start is 10px
- margin at end is 50px
If the margin-inline property has one value:
- margin-inline: 10px;
- margin at start and end is 10px
The CSSmargin-inline andmargin-block properties are very similar to CSS propertiesmargin-top,margin-bottom,margin-left andmargin-right, but themargin-inline andmargin-block properties are dependent on block and inline directions.
Note: The related CSS propertieswriting-mode anddirection define inline direction. This affects where the start and end of an element is and the result of themargin-inline property. For pages in English, block direction is downward and inline direction is left to right.

Example
With thewriting-mode property value of a <div> element set to 'vertical-rl', the inline direction is downwards. The result is that the start of the element is moved from left side to top, and the end of the element is moved from right side to bottom:
margin-inline: 10px 50px;

Example
With thedirection property value of a <div> element set to 'rtl', the inline direction is right to left. The result is that the start of the element is moved from left side to right side, and the end of the element is moved from right side to left side:
