Nancy Guthrie’s family, including all three Guthrie siblings, has been cleared as suspects in the missing persons case of Nancy Guthrie. “To be clear…the Guthrie family - to include all siblings and spouses - has been cleared as possible suspects in this case. The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case,” Sheriff Nanos wrote on February 16. “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple…please, I’m begging you the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.” Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, and there have been no significant leads in the case to date — but the FBI made some progress over the weekend.
Investigators found approximately 16 gloves near the Guthrie residence, mostly from people assisting in the search for Nancy, but one had DNA that could provide substantial evidence. “The one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department shared in a statement. “The FBI has and will continue to provide assistance on whatever timeline is provided to us.” The FBI recovered photos and a video showing the suspect tampering with the home security system.
