Summer Start

You’ve been accepted to Virginia Tech, and you’re counting the days till you come to Blacksburg. We get it: Now you can jumpstart your first year with Summer Start!

Summer Start gives incoming freshmen and transfer students a head start on campus life before the busyness of the fall semester. For six weeks, eat in the dining halls, live in the residence halls, and earn six or more credits in much smaller class sizes — all while you’re making friends to last a lifetime.

Summer session

Soak up the beauty of Blacksburg in the summer: Attend summer session at Virginia Tech, with two short six-week sessions. Earn up to 18 credits, catch exclusive summer class offerings — and still have time to go hiking or tubing.

Winter session

Want to catch up? Or get ahead? Winter session is condensed into a three-week period over winter break.

If you’re double majoring, planning to graduate early, or simply hoping to lighten your course load for fall or spring, winter session could be the perfect opportunity.
