The NewHustlers Trailer Proves the Summer of Scam Isn’t Over

ThefirstHustlers trailer set expectations high for the end-of-summer scam movie, with its plethora of platform heels, gravity-defying pole moves, and more Jennifer Lopez one-liners than one could ever hope for.
Now, just over a week out from its release on September 13, there’s a brand-newHustlers sneak peek. Also starring Constance Wu, Julia Stiles, Keke Palmer, Lili Reinhart, Lizzo, and Cardi B, the film is inspired by atrue story by Jessica Pressler about a group of women who work at a strip club and begin fleecing its customers for a little extra cash.
In the new trailer Cardi B’s character, Diamond, emerges like aSo You Think You Can Dance expert to teach Constance Wu’s character, Destiny, how to work the pole. “We’re going to help her learn how to do a real dance,” says Lopez’s character, Ramona. Cardirecently toldEntertainment Tonight that she wasn’t able to give her all in the dancing sequences because of a recent surgery: “I was like, This is my moment to shine, and I can’t shine because I can’t climb!” Still, her real-life experience working in strip clubs probably came in pretty handy throughout the course of the film: “I was born to flex,” indeed.
Ramona serves up more wisdom here, including the evergreen “You want ’em drunk enough to get their credit card but sober enough to sign a check.” Neophyte scammer Destiny proves she’s learned more than that from her new crew; she screeches to EMTs about her apparently passed-out “husband” before venturing back into his car for the loot.
