The United States of America’s National Park Service celebrates its centennial in 2016.
Among the ways we’re honoring the milestone is through the release of the spectacular IMAX® 3D film,America Wild: National Parks Adventure: Presented by Expedia and Subaru. The film presents the National Parks at their finest, capturing the wild and beautiful landscapes that provide awe-inspiring places to reflect and connect with nature. An experienced climber, Anker climbs frozen waterfalls in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, located on Lake Superior, along the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He recently taught pop sensation Justin Timberlake how to ice climb.

Crater Lake National Park, Oregon
The sun rises over Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. The lake, which fills a collapsed volcano that erupted more than 7,500 years ago, is the deepest in the United States (592 meters).

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming
Jackson Lake in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park reflects the mountains at sunrise. There are hundreds of kilometers of hiking trails in the park, including paths into the Teton Range.

Glacier National Park, Montana
Sky and mountains reflect on St. Mary Lake in Montana’s Glacier National Park. With lakes, horseback riding and more than 1,000 kilometers of hiking trails, the park is an outdoor wonderland.

Devils Tower National Monument, Wyoming
Devils Tower National Monument rises 386 meters above the Belle Fourche River in the Black Hills ofWyoming. Besides being striking to look at, it draws rock climbers from all over the world. “The biggest difficulty was just getting the camera up high on the formation,” says film director Greg MacGillivray. The film crew had to climb the mountain to shoot Anker scaling the massive rock formation.

Moab, Utah
Another part of the adventurous crew, mountain biker Eric Porter jumps off a mushroom boulder in Moab, Utah. The mountain biking trails in and around Moab are among the most awe-inspiring in the world.

Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
A friend of Anker and his stepson Max, adventurer and artist Rachel Pohl paints the hoodoos (rock spires) and other landscapes of Bryce Canyon National Park inUtah. Bryce Canyon is by far Pohl’s favorite Utah park.

Katmai National Park and Preserve, Alaska
Brown bears catch salmon in Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Katmai is home to more than 2,000 brown bears, which like to feast on sockeye salmon in the Brooks River. See how the film crew got this epic shot.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
The Colorado River carves through Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. There are many ways to see the canyon, including by raft, by foot and by air in a helicopter. Each viewpoint is spectacular in its own way.

Yellowstone National Park, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming
Steam rises from the Sapphire Pool in Biscuit Basin in Yellowstone National Park. Established in 1872, Yellowstone is the oldest National Park in the United States.

Canyonlands National Park, Utah
Mesa Arch overlooks Canyonlands National Park. Canyonlands is one of five stunning National Parks in Utah. “I think my first distinct memory of a big trip to a National Park is going to Utah’s Canyonlands around age five,” says Pohl. "Experiencing these otherworldly realms of beauty as a kid gave me a sense of limitless possibilities."
