Peter Sutherland is on a new Night Agent mission to save the world

Gabriel Basso and Suraj Sharma,The Night Agent
Sarah Shatz/NetflixDespite new episodes of two of its most-watched shows ever, Netflix is looking pretty light in February as it recovers from the hubbub over the final season ofStranger Things. Season 3 ofThe Night Agent and Season 4 Part 2 ofBridgerton — along with Season 4 ofThe Lincoln Lawyer — are the month's headliners, but they're "gourmet cheeseburgers," a phrase Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria used to reference mass appeal shows with a premium TV veneer.
Instead, I will be focusing on the sports docuseriesGlitter & Gold: Ice Dancing, a Winter Olympics warmup about the three sets of frontrunners performing in the games' most subjective sport, and the 2016 comedySearch Party, a hidden gem that playfully smacks around millennial malaise. Also of note is Eddie Vedder'sMatter of Time, a film about the Pearl Jam frontman's charitable concerts to raise money to find a cure for epidermolysis bullosa; a new season of the popular reality dating series Love Is Blind; and Season 8 of the F1 seriesDrive to Survive.
Here are the shows and movies coming to Netflix in February — as well as what's leaving.

Paul Poirier and Piper Gilles,Glitter & Gold: Ice Dancing
NetflixYour Winter Olympics prep begins with this three-part docuseries from the creators ofSimone Biles Rising about three of the top ice dancing teams expected to contend for spots on the podium in the Milano Cortina games. What makesGlitter & Gold: Ice Dancing work especially well is the diversity of its subjects; Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates are the classy team that grew from a professional to a romantic partnership; the Canadian duo of Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier are the sport's boundary-pushing goofballs; and the French team of Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry serve as the de facto villains, with 2022 gold medalist Cizeron's unexpected unretirement shaking up the field and Beaudry's former partner Nikolaj Sørensen getting banned from the sport for sexual assault allegations, forcing Beaudry into a new partnership.Glitter & Gold covers the year before the Winter Olympics, culminating in December's Grand Prix in Nagoya, Japan, which essentially set the field and expectations for the Olympics. But it's the Olympians' unique drive and their relationships — not just between the partners but between the small pool of athletes in the sport who all have histories with each other — that earn the series its medals. One of the best shows you've never watched isSearch Party, which ran for two seasons on TBS during the network's dalliance with original comedy (rememberPeople of Earth andWrecked?) before moving to HBO Max for its final three seasons. A clever elbow jab at millennials lost in the purposeless haze of post-college confusion,Search Party starsAlia Shawkat as Dory, a Brooklynite who becomes obsessed with a missing persons case of an acquaintance from college, but the mystery is grounded by the hangout comedy between Dory and her friends, played byJohn Early,Meredith Hagner, andJohn Reynolds. Each season has its own unpredictable themes and foci, with the wild fifth and final season taking one of the biggest swings a comedy has ever swung... and crushing it. [Trailer]
Season 2 of Shawn Ryan's drama didn't hit like the wildly successful first season, butThe Night Agent still got the job done as a watchable espionage thriller about outlandish conspiracies involving shadowy men pulling the strings that manipulate the world. This season will mark a huge change for the series because hero Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) will be without his partner and romantic interest, Rose (Luciane Buchanan), for the first time as they went their separate ways after Season 2. But this being the second season of original storytelling from Ryan — Season 1 was based on a book — the threads that were pulled in Season 2 involving the enigmatic Jacob Monroe (Louis Herthum) and a questionable U.S. presidential election will carry over into something even more vast. Everything changes for Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) when he meets Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) at his mother's (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball. There's a catch, though. Sophie, who has spent much of her life working as a maid, went to the ball in disguise. Her romance with Benedict unfolds as he searches for the identity of the "Lady in Silver" in Season 4 of Bridgerton, which is based on Julia Quinn's novel An Offer from a Gentleman. Like the third season of the hit period drama, Bridgerton Season 4 will be released in two parts of four episodes each, with Part 1 out on Jan. 29 and the final episodes out in late February. -Kat Moon [Trailer] [Everything to know aboutBridgerton Season 4]
