ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 17. Chairmanof the Halk Maslahaty (Parliament) of Turkmenistan, GurbangulyBerdimuhamedov, has started his official visit to the U.S. onFebruary 16,Trend reports via the press service of the TurkmenGovernment.
On January 23, U.S. Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll andU.S. Special Representative for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gorvisited Turkmenistan, where they engaged in discussions withPresident Serdar Berdimuhammedov.
During the meeting, President Berdimuhammedov emphasizedTurkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening mutually beneficialcooperation with the United States.
The sides underscored that Turkmenistan-U.S. relations, foundedon mutual respect, trust, and understanding, encompasspolitical-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitariandomains. Particular attention was given to the active politicaldialogue in recent years, which has facilitated productiveexchanges on global challenges, including sustainable development,security, and climate change.
