In February of 2018, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy came back into our lives in the form of five new hosts and on a new platform.
The premise is five openly gay men makeover a straight man; a man who needs some help in fashion, design, food, grooming, and culture. As many viewers have noticed, however, this show is much more than our average makeover show. It's turned into a bird's eye view into the life of a gay man, and straight men accepting the gay culture. It's turned into an inspiring and hilarious show that's already preparing for season two.
With the help of Tan France (fashion), Bobby Berk (design), Antoni Porowski (food), Jonathan Van Ness (grooming), and Karamo Brown (culture), these men have won the hearts of millions. So let's get to know these five amazing men a little more, along with the show that set them up.
15 Tan Is British

It's not hard to tell that Tan is one of the most sophisticated men viewers have ever seen on TV.He's well-spoken, put-together, and has an accent as smooth as butter. Unsurprisingly, the fashion guru is from Doncaster, England. Growing up, he worked in a denim factory owned by his grandfather, and later attended fashion school. Style is something that has stayed with him ever since, as it's his career now. If fans follow him on Instagram, it's easy to notice he has a love for bold prints, gold accessories (or accessories in general), and a pair of white sneaks. He sure does know how to look totally the part, even when he's not decked out in a suit. And with his skills on the show, he let's the men be themselves — just a higher version of themselves.
14 Jonathan Works At A Few Studios

It's no surprise that grooming specialist, Jonathan Van Ness is a show favorite. The man is a LEGEND. He's fun, he's loud, he's gay & and he's proud! JVN just doesn't give a rat's behind about what anyone thinks of him. He's passionate about men and grooming, and he's gonna spread his passion.
After watching the show, it's obvious Jonathan Van Ness knows his way around the salon, and that's because when he's not filming for Netflix or recording his own podcast (we'll talk about that later), he's working between New York City and Los Angeles. While in New York, JVN can be found atArté Salon. And when in Los Angeles, he can be found in the neighboring area of Brentwood at Sola Salon Studios.
13 Tan Has His Own Fashion Label

Tan is one of those calming forces on the show. He's hilarious and fun while also being very professional. It's his job to find a style that resonates with the straight men of the show; a style that is both realistic and fashionable at the same time. Because of his fashion knowledge and love, he has his own design table,Kingdom & State.
Kingdom & State is a London-based fashion label designed for women. It's chic, it's feminine, it's free-flowing — it's all very much Tan France. And guess what! They ship globally, so now you can wear France's designs. But that's not all, he's also a partner in theRachel Parcellclothing line; which is another line for women, featuring petite dresses, sweaters, and skirts.
12 Bobby Is Happily Married

One of my favorite parts of Queer Eye is the design element. Speaking from someone who is obsessed with all those HGTV shows, it's amazing seeing what someone can do to a room that's filled with absolute junk.
But that's where Bobby comes in. As the shows resident design maker and shaker, he transform's the person's environment into a new and more efficient space. Some houses or apartments on the show just need a designer's touch, while others seem like a full on tear-down. Nevertheless, Bobby is on top of it.
While Bobby is killing it professionally, his personal life is just as successful. He is marriedto a man named Dewey, and the pair have been married for a little over five years. While it's not known how the pair met, it makes my heart warm that this adorable and talented man has found love himself.
11 Karamo Was On MTV's 'The Real World'

If the 'Culture' guru on Queer Eye looked familiar to you, that's because he is a man about town. The world first met Karamo Brown when he was cast as the first openly gay black man on MTV's The Real World back in 2002. (I KNOW, RIGHT?!) Following his stunt with MTV, he tried getting into the acting game a bit, and was even host to Dr. Drew on Call(along with a few others).Besides being easy on the eyes, Karamo is one talented man.
His role on the show was one I didn't really understand at first. He pretty much acts as a therapist, trying to get to the bottom of why these men act, do, and think the way that they do. He tries to break them down, so that they think about why they're really in a rut. After watching a few episodes, it became obvious that the show needed Karamo and his words of wisdom. So if you haven't dabbled in this show yet, give Karamo's role some time.
10 Antoni Used To Act!

While all of the men on Queer Eye are downright FLAWLESS, no one steals my heart quite like the show's cooking expert: Antoni Porowski. He might be the most beautiful man I've ever seen. He's like a way more attractive version of John Mayer.
Seeing as Antoni is one sensual looking man, he has also dabbled in the acting pond. AccordingtoCosmopolitan, he's had a few lines in "The Pretenders, Love Elliottand an episode of Blacklist."
*Rewatches every episode until I spot Antoni*
Since Anotni is relaxed in front of the camera (and looks darn good in front of it), he was recommended as the show's food and wine specialist, and he obviously got the job. I'm sure he was booked because of his food and wine knowledge, but it's also because he's sexy AF.
9 There Will Be A Second Season

While the first season of Netflix's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy only has eight 40-minute episodes, viewers everywhere wondered if there would be a season two.Since season one takes place in the South (Georgia), people wondered if season two would continue in one location. And thanks to creator, David Collins, he let the cat out of the bag that a season two WOULD be happening!
David Collins said he was "interested" in bringing the Fab Five from Georgia up to the Midwest. He said "I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio, born and raised. I would like to go the tri state region, Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, because you can base in Cincinnati and go across the bridge to Kentucky and go up the interstate to Indiana. The corn-fed midwestern folk are where I'm from — and I love actually being from Ohio, it's a great place to be from."
8 Bobby Has His Own Design Brand

It's obvious Bobby is one creative and talented dude. Seeing the way he transforms rooms, studios, kitchens, and outdoor spaces is friggin remarkable. I'm shocked I haven't seen him sooner. Then again, maybe I have and I just never noticed.

According to Cosmopolitan, Berk has been on HGTV, BRAVO, NBC, and CBS! Originally hailing from Texas before making New York City home, Bobby has gotten quite well-known thanks to his designs. And in 2006, he decided to spread his genius by creating Bobby Berk Home; a retail store for people to shop his unique designs. His shop currently includes furniture and decorations for bedrooms, outdoor spaces, offices, lighting — you name it and Bobby has thought of it.

7 Tan Is Happily Married

I can't say enough good things about Tan. He seems like such a good listener and truly takes each person's fashionable desires to heart. He doesn't dress the straight guys up in clothing that he would wear; he dresses them in clothes that work for their lifestyle and their body type. He's a beautiful genius, I tell ya!
Besides being on the show and running two successful clothing lines, Tan is also a married man. Since moving to America from England, he met Rob France; an illustrator is just as talented and attractive as Tan is!
Today the pair live in Salt Lake City,Utah, which seems like a random location based on their public and creative lines of work, but hey, whatever works for them. Utah is beautiful, maybe it serves as inspiration.
6 Karamo Co-Founded 6in10

Did you think Karamo Brown couldn't get any more perfect? Well, you're dead wrong; he's more than a pretty face. This gorgeous and helpful man is also an activist. So besides being a host and a culture-knowing lord, he also co-founded 6in10;an organization working to fight against the HIV stigma. The organization offers "mental health support and HIV education tothe LGBT community." The name, 6in10, comes from the statistics going against gay and bisexual black men; a name that's straight to the point and starts a conversation. It's a cause that is duly appreciated, and now with Karamo's role on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, hopefully he can shed a light on his organization, and bring awareness to the cause — you go, Karamo!
