Richard Bauckham
Richard Bauckham (b. September 22, 1946) is aNew Testamentscholar and professor of New Testament studies at St. Mary's College, Universityof St. Andrews, Scotland. "Bauckham is perhaps best known for his studies of thebook of Revelation and for his commentaries onJude and2 Peter. He is also a thoughtfultheologian who has written an introduction to the theology ofJürgen Moltmann. In his bookGod Crucified (1999), Bauckhamdisplays the craft of both a careful exegete and a deft theologian as heexplores the riddle of how the radicallymonotheistic Jews whocomposed the earliest church could have come to call Jesus 'Lord'."^ [1]^ HisbookJesus and the Eyewitnesses won the 2007 Book Award in Biblical StudiesfromChristianity Today. ^ [2]^

"Richard Bauckham studied at the University of Cambridge, where he read historyat Clare College (1966-72) and was a Fellow of St. John's College (1972-75). Hetaught theology for one year at the University of Leeds, and for 15 years at theUniversity of Manchester (1977-1992), where he was lecturer, then reader in theHistory of Christian Thought, before moving to St. Andrews in 1992. He iscurrently a Fellow of the British Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society ofEdinburgh, and a member of the Doctrine Commission of the Church of England."^[3]^
