When considering what type of deck to play inMarvel Snap, one focused on Ongoing effects is one of the easier archetypes to understand. However, just because you’re notdiscarding your hand or saving up for an explosive reveal, it doesn’t mean these decks don’t have some tricks up their sleeves.

Ongoing decks focus around having an ever-present effect on the board, meaning it will last from the moment the card is revealed until the end of the game, as long as the card remains on the board. Heroes like Ant-Man and Iron Man give your side some much-appreciated power, while villains like Super Skrull can take advantage of your opponent’s decks.
10 Wong - Reveal Ability Duplication

Wong, everyone’s favorite sorcerer supreme. If you’re looking to make a deck centered around the Ongoing effect, Wong is not the card for you. His ongoing ability causes all of your On Reveal abilities to happen twice, as long as those cards are being revealed in the same location as Wong.
He is also a four-cost card, meaning you won’t get his benefits until a little later in the game. However, On Reveal effects can be absolutely devastating to your opponent, and saving them up until Wong is out on the board could seriously tip thescales in your favor.
9 Cerebro - Strong Become Stronger

A power boost never hurt anyone, right? Cerebro is the perfect mid-game power spike. While it doesn’t have any power on its own, it gives two power to your highest power cards. Making the strong stronger.
When playing with Cerebro, keep in mind that this effect will transfer to a new card if it has the most powerwhen it’s played. Heroes like Hulk, who offer a great last-chance power spike, can be made even stronger and potentially win you a location with Cerebro’s extra power.
8 Ant-Man - Single Location Strength

A hero who grows stronger the more allies he’s around, Ant-Man’s ongoing effect takes advantage of having a full team in his location. Specifically, if you have three other cards in his location, he gains three power.

He doesn’t seem like much, but as an early-game one-cost card, placing him on a location and surrounding him with other heroes like Iron Man or Onslaught and you’ll be in a pretty good place when turn six rolls around. However, be careful. Four cards on one location might limit your power on the other two more than you’d like.
7 Cosmo - No On-Reveal Abilities

The greatest dog-astronaut to ever wear the suit, Cosmo is another mid-game play that can help you control an opponent’s On Reveal cards or make them think twice about playing on Cosmo’s location.
While Cosmo is in play, all On Reveal abilities won’t happen at the location he is placed on. Keep in mind, however, that this includes your own side of thelocation as well. Be careful where you’re placing your cards after Cosmo is in play, or you might just cancel your own effect!
6 Dazzler - Full Board Bonus

If you’re looking to maximize your power at each location and lay down a full board every game, then Dazzler is the perfect Ongoing card for your deck.
Her Ongoing ability grants her eight power as long as you have four cards at each location. It seems like a tall order, and twelve cards is no small feat, but this will compound with other Ongoing abilities, making her a menace to build around. Plus, as a four-cost, four-power card, Dazzler isn’t terrible on her own.
5 Iron Man - Double Your Power

Ah, the gold-titanium alloy-clad hero himself. Iron Man is afantastic Avenger card to put in your deck, and he’s available as one of your starting cards, no less. He grants you an incredible power spike, doubling your power at the location he is played at, but it comes with the fact he is a five-cost hero.
He may not fit inside a deck centered around On Reveal effects, as you’d want to lay down as many cards as possible in that case. However, decks centered around Ongoing effects are almost incomplete without him.
4 Armor - Indestructible

With Ongoing cards, their power relies on them being present for the whole match. Meaning the threat of your opponent destroying one of your cards could have devastating effects.

Luckily, there’s Armor. At two cost, three power, she’s a pretty good card in its own right, but add on the fact she makes your cards indestructible, and she becomes a vital card in your deck. Keep in mind, however, that this effect is only for the location Armor is played at. You’ll have to figure something else out for the other location you’ll need to secure your victory.
3 Goose - No High Energy Cards Here

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a cosmic cat to add to your deck, Goose offers greatlocation control for the late game. As long as Goose is on the board, no one can play cards that cost more than four energy at Goose’s location.
Once again, this ability affects you as well. Despite being a two-energy card, it might be worth waiting until turn three to play Goose, so you can better know what your opponent’s plan is. If there’s an empty location, Goose will prevent them from laying down their big hitters there for a quick win.
2 Super Skrull - Steal Ongoing Effects

Living up to what he does best, Super Skrull is an excellent card against opponents who are also playing around Ongoing effects.

Super Skrull copies all Ongoing effects of your opponent’s cards. All of them, regardless of location. This means he can act as Iron Man, Armor, Dazzler, and any other Ongoing effect card your opponent has at once. Super Skrull is a great late-game power spike, as long as your opponent has a couple of Ongoing effect cards on their side of the board.
1 Onslaught - Double Ongoing Effects

If more power were a person, it would be Onslaught. Another great option for a late-game power spike, Onslaught lets you double your other Ongoing effects at the location he is played on.
While maybe not potentially as powerful as Super Skrull can be, Onslaught is a more reliable six-energy cost trump card. Since he relies on the Ongoing effects on your side of the board, you can more easily build around him rather than hoping your opponent is playing with Ongoing effects as well.
