Kendo UI for VueTheme-Controlled Defaults
New featureWe’re introducing a more flexible and consistent way to manage component appearance across all Telerik & Kendo UI themes. Starting in Q1 2026, components will rely on theme-controlled defaults for key appearance options such as Fill Mode, Theme Color, Rounded Corners, and Size. This update gives you the best of both worlds—modern, theme-aligned designs out of the box, plus the flexibility to tailor components to your exact needs.
Cleaner, theme-driven styling: Themes will define the default look and feel for a more cohesive design experience.
Full customization remains: You can still override any default by explicitly setting component API options.
Consistent behavior across themes: A unified system ensures predictable styling and easier maintenance.
Clear hierarchy of control: Theme defaults → Component API overrides → Runtime customization.
DataGrid Performance Improvements
New feature We will be optimizing the Kendo UI for Vue DataGrid to deliver faster rendering and smoother interactions, especially for large datasets and complex layouts. New featureWe’re adding support for sticky group headers in the Kendo UI for Vue DataGrid component. This enhancement ensures that group headers remain visible while scrolling through large datasets, making it easier to understand the context of grouped data without losing track of which group you’re viewing. This improvement enhances usability for complex grids and delivers a smoother, more intuitive data exploration experience.
New Speech-to-Text Button Component
New componentWe are introducing a new Speech-to-Text Button component: a reusable UI element that integrates voice input capabilities into web applications with minimal effort. Voice input is becoming an important interaction method in modern web applications, improving accessibility, increasing productivity, and allowing hands-free workflows. Designed to fit seamlessly into forms, chat inputs, search fields, or any prompt interface, it enables users to dictate text or prompt in one click and allows developers to customize behavior, and styling as necessary.
Inline AI Prompt Component
New componentAdding a brand-new Inline AI Prompt component will enable developers to embed lightweight, context-aware AI interactions directly within forms, editors, and data grids. This component provides a seamless input experience where users can invoke AI suggestions inline—without disrupting their workflow—using predefined triggers or natural language prompts. Developers will benefit from flexible API integration with any LLM backend and customizable prompt templates. Designed for fast rendering and low memory footprint, this component helps accelerate productivity features such as smart autocompletion, contextual explanations, content rewriting, fixing grammar, translating text, polishing formatting, and much more inside any business application.
