A RARE recording of The Beatles taking over Juke Box Jury on BBC Television has been unearthed as part of a hunt by the corporation to find broadcasting classics.

The half-hour show, in which the group give their views on new releases and are frequently drowned out by screaming fans, was broadcast on Dec 7, 1963.

It was captured on audio tape by a viewer and handed over to the BBC archives. The BBC failed to record many legendary programmes.
