Breaking the hearts of many AdSense publishers, Google has made an announcement that AdSense For Feeds program will be discontinued effective 3 December, 2012. If you are using AdSense in RSS Feeds, they will continue to show Ads until this date and after that you will see blank ads.
Should I remove my ad code from the feeds: Even though your code won't cause any harm to your feeds, you will not see any ads and hence no revenue will be generated from it. It is better to remove the ad scripts from your feeds to avoid blank ad space since it will serve no purpose past the retirement date.
Impact on earnings: The revenue you earned until the last date will be finalized and added to your monthly balance on 31 Dec 2012 and the payment will be issued to you through the normal AdSense payment process. However, if you haven't reached the minimum threshold, the earnings will be added to your balance and will be combined with your income from other AdSense products. If you are not using any other AdSense products and haven't reached the payment threshold, the balance will remain in your account as long as your account remains active. You can see the historical reports in your account and will not be removed.
Alternatives for AdSense for Feeds: If you are looking for alternatives for this program, you may consider programs like FeedBlitz. You can do a simple search and find a lot of programs that offer feed distribution services with options to embed advertisements in your feeds.
