The latest wireless Ring Doorbell has been discounted to a new record-low price ahead of next week's Prime Day. We've tested more advanced versions and have been impressed with the video quality and night vision colour, but it's a shame that some of this device's value is usable exclusively with a Ring Protect subscription. However, if you're fine with paying for a subscription or already using a Ring-based home security system, it'll be worth the cost.

This is a handy and affordable power bank from the popular and well-rated Anker brand. It sports a sleek and slim design that makes it easy to carry around, while it can still recharge many mobiles up to two times over. There's only a single port to charge one device at a time but that's not a huge issue if you just want a cheap power bank for your phone.

The Sony WF-C700N are an excellent pair of cheap earbuds. At this low price, I think they're an absolute steal and then some. Yes, 20 hours of battery can be bettered – but 15 hours from the buds alone with noise-cancellation on certainly can't at this price point. They're also light and comfortable, and provide an exciting, musical sound.

The latest version of the standard Kindle is on sale as part of the annual Prime Day sale. It's a basic ereader, but it still boasts a four-week battery life and space for thousands of books. Given it's £60 cheaper than the Paperwhite, this is clearly a better pick for the infrequent reader who's after a more budget-friendly option. At under £70, this Black Friday deal is a new record-low price for the ereader, but far from the bigger discounts I've seen in previous years.

This is a frankly ridiculous price for a PS5 Digital Edition console and one that firmly takes it into prime gifting and impulse purchase territory. It's easily one of the best Black Friday PS5 deals we're likely to see if you're shopping for the console in this year's sales. It has everything you need to get started – just be aware there's no disc drive so you'll need to buy all games digitally.

The G50 is very budget-friendly even at full price, but now it's even more so thanks to this Black Friday deal, which takes it under £100. A maximum suction of 4,000Pa is extremely good for the price, and the onboard bin is surprisingly generously sized at 600ml. For this price, expect basic navigation and a design suited to general whole-home cleans rather than anything more specific. Although we haven't reviewed this specific model yet, we generally rate Eufy highly as a brand, and the value for money is impressive.

Its convenient, grab-and-go design stood out to our reviewer, who gave it four out of five stars. These are as good as noise-cancelling headphones get.

OK, it's not a huge discount, but it's still one of the first price cuts I've seen on the Nintendo Switch 2. Given that the console usually costs around £395 by itself, you're effectively getting a copy of Mario Kart World bundled in for just £14 – that's a huge steal. I don't anticipate the deals will be any better than this as we get into the depths of Black Friday, and there could be stock issues come November, so I think this is a great time to buy ahead of the mad rush.

One of the easiest and cheapest TV upgrades you can ever make is to add a soundbar – because honestly, most TVs have pretty awful sound unless you splash out on the really pricey sets.

Amazon's Fire TV Soundbar isn't the absolute best soundbar in the world – we gave it 3.5 stars in ourreview – but for a mere £85, while offering support for DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Audio, you'd be hard pressed to find a better option for less.

Add a bit more Sonos goodness to your home

The Sonos Era 100 on a blue background with text saying Big Savings.

Speaking of deals, I have my eye on the updated Sonos Era 100 – which is currently £31 less than usual for Black Friday.

As the owner of multiple Sonos speakers over the years, I can't get enough of them – they sound great and have fantastic multi-room abilities that make it really easy to either pair several for a bigger sound or switch from room to room seamlessly. And while the Era 100 is only small, but it packs a big punch, audio-wise.

Sonos Era 100:was£199 now £168at Amazon

You'll also want to think about how in-demand the deal might be. Some thingsdo sell out on Black Friday and usually retailers will tell you when stock is low. Keep an eye on that kind of thing as we approach Black Friday and then move through the weekend.

And if you really, really want something – and you don't mind potentially missing out on a further saving – then just buy it. You'll regret not having something at all more than you will paying a little extra for it, assuming it's still cheaper than it is the rest of the year.

Or at least that's my take. Anyway, on with the deals…

And of course it depends on the product.

If it's a £1500 OLED TV then maybe wait, because the drop there could be another £200 or so if you're lucky. But if it's a pack of batteries then it's only going to go another pound or so lower anyway, so if you need them now, buy them now!

You might at this sort of time be asking yourself whether you should buy something now or wait for Black Friday…

Well, as with most things – it depends. For starters, check out what we've said about the product and price on TechRadar. We always try to tell you whether something is at a record-low or not, for instance. You can also look at price history using any of the many tools out there on the web. We're nearly at Black Friday now, and there's a good chance many of the deals have already reached their lowest price or won't go much further.

Plus, it has a convenient 5MP front-facing camera for taking calls as you move. It all comes together to provide a slightly faster and more appealing way to use a tablet while still keeping costs down and providing handy Alexa support. I'd always thought that super-expensive electric toothbrushes were a waste of money. Who really needs something with app connectivity and all sorts of other bells and whistles to brush their teeth? Give me good battery life and a pressure sensor and I'm content.

What did change my mind a little, though, is this Suri Electric Toothbrush. It's not overly pricey, it's really nice to use, has a super-long battery life, and is made from sustainable materials. A fantastic buy.

Hello and thanks for joining me for my coverage of this year's Amazon UK Black Friday sale. The retailer kick off its event last week and the deals have remained pretty consistent ever since, but as the day itself draws nearer, I'm sure more people out there are going to check out, so there's a risk of popular items selling out soon. That could apply to many of the best deals I've picked out right here, so if anything has caught your eye, think about acting sooner rather than later. I'll be sharing all of my top picks for you right here.
