Parents' Guild
The TCS Parents’ Guild is the oldest existing organization of its kind in Canada, founded in 1902 with a mandate “to complete the chapel and other interests of the School.” While the chapel continues to be a priority, the guild has evolved over the years to reflect the contemporary needs of the school community.
As an integral part of the TCS community, the guild seeks to enhance spiritual, social and physical aspects of student life through fundraising and volunteerism while fostering positive relationships between parents and the community at large.
All TCS parents are guild members; this means you are most welcome to attend meetings and events, and your involvement through volunteering, donating and taking part in guild fundraising initiatives is greatly appreciated.

Fundraising Activities
Each year, the guild raises funds to support student-centred programs and initiatives at the School. This includes the development of a “wish list” by faculty and staff of potential enhancements to programs and resources.
In recent years, “wish list” funding has included: robotic kits, huddle boards and dry-erase boards, portable staging, playground equipment, squash racquets, canoes, water filling stations, musical instruments, the patio outside Cirne Commons, the greenhouse, outdoor classroom improvements, athletic uniforms, guest speakers and guest musicians… And all of this is in addition to the guild’s annual support for financial assistance, chapel enhancements, house outings and more!
Our funding comes from membership dues, donations and profits from such fundraising activities as: our tuck shop, “The Bear Boutique”; our annual family fun day,Bear Fair;birthday/care packages; poinsettia sales; hospitality canteen; exam packages; and a huge Valentine's Day celebration. These programs are made possible by the many parents who volunteer their time, as well as the parents – like you – who support our fundraising efforts through donations and purchases.
Social Events
The guild hosts several events throughout the school year to help TCS parents build connections with one another and with the School. This includes in-person socials as well as online events, to ensure parents living at a distance have a chance to join in on the fun!
