Boulder Beach on the Otago Peninsula is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf. Summer offers the best conditions for surfing. The best wind direction is from the north. Windswells and groundswells in equal measure and the ideal swell direction is from the south. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves. Best around low tide. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for sharks/rips.
