Police name teenager in court after 'gunman' reports sparks armed response

He appeared in court today

Police have named a teenager after armed police were sent to a town centre amid reports of a gunman. George Beardmore appeared before magistrates at North Staffordshire Justice Centre earlier today (November 26).

The 18-year-old, of Stafford, is accused of possession of an air weapon in a public place. It comes after reports of 'public order offences' at the rear of The Baker's Arms pub in High Street at 8pm on Saturday (November 22).

Beardmore has been granted conditional bail ahead of a further hearing due at Cannock Magistrates Courton Tuesday, February 17.
