Andre Rieu is a classical composer, conductor and violinist from Maastricht, The Netherlands.

Starting his musical career in 1978, he is known for his part in bringing waltz music to the masses with his Johann Strauss Orchestra – a group which has toured the world with him, bridging the gap between old and new, and creating fans out of people who perhaps would have shunned classical music otherwise.

Having first picked up a violin at the age of five, he began his fascination with orchestra from a very young age. Fulfilling his childhood dreams, he and his orchestra have performed throughout the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. They have acquired a number of accolades, including two World Music Awards. Their recordings have gone Gold and Platinum in numerous countries, with Rieu himself considered a music icon in his home country of The Netherlands and beyond.

Magical experience for 1st time live

Well I have just returned from seeing Andre for the 1st time, after countless year's of TV and DVD shows and I am still buzzing it was over to quick lol even though he and his orchestra were on stage for a good 2 and half hours. He had a Gospel choir that were brilliant, then we had the pipes and drums. Overall an experience I will never forget and it is my hope to go to see him at Christmas in Holland, that will be the ultimate.

Magical

Seen him and orchestra close was for me magical. Everything was perfect. We see him all the time on TV and the experience to see the group live and get all the energy, joy and love was a gift to me, as was Andre's words. Music is love and it is no doubt that you can get all the love by listening and seeing him. THANKS ANDRE, the experience was MAGICAL!

Magical evening in Glasgow

Tremendous experience

Thank you so much Andre. Your show in Orlando kept me awake all night - lol - I had my 91 year old Mother with me who has been wanting forever to come and see your music. The night was such a wonderful experience for both of us. All of your musicians and singers are so talented it was incredible. It was so fun to share some laughter and tears with you as you made us feel so good. There is hope for this world yet with people like you in it. God Bless you.

Unmissable, fabulous, uplifting and diverse musical entertainment

I thought the whole show was wonderful. There was something for everyone. There was classical opera plus music and a song from the Ukraine. The scenery was based on an Italian theme and so was some of the music. The highlight for me was a little girl who was nine years old who had a beautiful voice. I was only in a cinema viewing in Newbury UK but people in the audience were clapping as if they were at the concert. There were no worst moments. It was lovely to see the audiences on screen and to see the way they interacted with Andre and his orchestra.
