At the end of fiscal year 2019, the length of state highways in Bihar in India was around four thousand kilometers. Controlled by the state governments, the highways join the state capitals to district headquarters and to other important towns through connections with national highways. In the past three decades, the length of state highways across the south Asian country has doubled.
