Article on Lylat WikiWolfen

TheWolfen (ウルフェン,Wolfen) is the name of the ship piloted byWolf O'Donnell and his team,Star Wolf. They are similar to team Star Fox'sArwings.

Origin[edit]

The Wolfen was manufactured byAndross andPigma Dengar to counter the Arwing and prevent the Star Fox team from reaching Venom.[1] With greater offense capabilities, but worse defense, the Wolfen fighters were designed to quickly dispose of anyone who got in Andross' way. As Andross is said to be the original creator of the G-Diffusor system and theory, it comes equipped with such as well.[1]

The Wolfen first appears inStar Fox 64 in the 3rd mission of the game on the planet Fichina (referred to as Fortuna in the original N64 version), when the Star Fox team arrive there to stop its base from self-destructing. They are suddenly stopped by Wolf and his Star Wolf team, each piloting their own ship. The ships reappear alongside the evil team in a few other missions. DuringStar Fox: Assault, Star Wolf sported redesigned Wolfens, doing battle with them against Star Fox in the Sargasso Space Zone, though Wolf would later allow Fox to ride on the wing of Wolf's Wolfen on Corneria. The Wolfen could also be used in this game for the first time, being unlockable for the game's Versus Mode. DuringStar Fox Command, the members of Star Wolf each customized their ships, with only that of Wolf appearing the same as the original Wolfen, while Leon and Panther changed theirs to fit their preferences.

InSuper Smash Bros.[edit]

Wolfen as it appears inSuper Smash Bros.

The Wolfen occasionally flies by in the background ofSector Z, but does not attack the player.

InSuper Smash Bros. Melee[edit]

Wolfen as it appears inMelee.

A Wolfen appears in theCorneria andVenom stages, occasionally firing lasers at the characters on-screen. The Wolfen doesn't target any character in particular. In the Corneria stage, once it has stopped firing, the Wolfen will then fly off the screen after a few seconds. If a character remains on it when it flies off the screen, that character will receive aStar KO.

It also appears in the opening movie, piloted byWolf as he makes his cameo.

Trophy[edit]

The Wolfen trophy is obtained by clearingAdventure Mode in under 18 minutes 20 seconds or less.

Wolfen
The beloved ship of the mercenary team Star Wolf, which was hired to destroy Fox and his team. The ship's abilities rival an Arwing.;[sic] As a matter of fact, the Wolfen II was an improvement over its predecessor and could nearly outperform team Star Fox's ships. Star Wolf's leader, Wolf O'Donnell, is Fox's most persistent rival.

Wolf's on-screen appearance inBrawl.

The Wolfen reappears in theCorneria stage as it did before and also makes an appearance in theLylat Cruise stage. It appears briefly in bothWolf'son-screen appearance in which he ejects from it to enter on the battlefield, as well as a bonus scene of theSubspace Emissary, in which Wolf ejects from the Wolfen and lands on the Lylat Cruise to face off the player. It's also notable that the Wolfen appears slightly different than theStar Fox: Assault version, where its wings are spread farther apart. The Wolfen also appears as asticker inBrawl.

Wolfen
A class of star fighter piloted by TeamStar Fox's rivals, Team Star Wolf. Wolfens boast more gravity-suppressing plates than Arwings, making their performance equal or perhaps even superior. When Team Star Wolf reappeared, they were piloting Wolfen II ships--improved versions with two laser cannons rather than one and the capability to reflect attacks by rolling.

InSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[edit]

The Wolfen appear as a distinct trophy. Also, the Wolfen reappears in theCorneria stage.

Trophy[edit]

Wolfen
Star Wolf's all-range fighters were designed by an evil scientist (Andross) and a truly shameless mechanic (Pigma). Still, leaving aside the designers' personal qualities, the Wolfen's performance and careful design make it truly stand out. In fact, its turning ability and high-gravity resistance surpass even the Arwing.

InSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U[edit]

The Wolfen appears as a distinct trophy. ItsAssault version is an item inSmash Tour: when used, it makes a selected opponent start the battle with 100% damage. Also, the Wolfen reappears in theLylat Cruise stage.
