ATrackball is an object inThe Subspace Emissary inSuper Smash Bros. Brawl. Trackballs first appear inThe Jungle as pink disks attached to silver pathways.Attacking the circle causes it glow and speed along the path, damaging and oftenKO'ing any enemies it hits. The strength of the attack used to hit it affects how fast and, in turn, how far the Trackball moves. If a Trackball's track is "open" (that is, it has a start and an end), the Trackball will return to its starting point once it reaches the end or runs out of momentum (doing no damage on the way back). If instead the path is a closed circuit, the Trackball will remain where it stops once it loses all momentum. Trackballs cannot be hit while glowing or returning to their starting point.

Trackballs generally appear in two cases: to help in areas with many enemies or to unblock paths with certain blocks that only Trackballs can break (known as Trackblocks). Trackblocks will be destroyed no matter how fast a Trackball is moving (unless it's in reverse).

While Trackballs are generally activated by attacks, there are areas (for example inThe Forest) that feature "chains" of Trackballs. When hit, the first Trackball will smash into the other Trackballs, which causes them to move at high speed (regardless of how fast the original was moving).

There are a few Giant Trackballs inThe Wilds II. Their paths remain invisible until they are struck and they deal more damage.

The Trackball's initial speed (inunits perframe) is based on the attack that hit it, being equal to half of the attack's damage ignoringsticker effects with a minimum initial speed of 2.5 u/f. Most Trackballs lose speed over time, typically losing 2% of their current speed every frame, though some lose as much as 5% of the current speed and a few don't lose any speed over time. Colliding with blocks or enemies can also affect their speed, usually ranging between 0-10% speed loss on hit and some losing 50% of their speed. When its speed falls below 0.1 u/f it will stop glowing and either: return to its starting point (open tracks) or become hitable again (closed tracks).

A Trackball in motion always deals 30%slash damage (60% for Giant Trackballs) regardless of speed or difficulty—damage is affected by an enemy's resistances and further multiplied by 0.9. They are unable to hit the same enemy for 1000 frames (16.67 seconds) within the same motion.
