Xanadu Homecoming - The Last Hurrah was aSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate superregional held in Laurel,Maryland on December 28th, 2024. This was the finalXanadu event, as it took place days before the venue was to shut down.

Tournament summary[edit]

#93 seedNoodl made the biggest upset of the event, as he defeated #4 seedNoTag 3-2 for an upset factor of 9. Noodl ultimately placed 5th, well above his seed, and also upset #13 seedFrostbyte 3-1 along the way (upset factor 5), while NoTag was upset by #20 seedJuice 2-3 (upset factor 5) for 25th. In addition, #60 seedBacoN defeated #5 seedOolong 2-1 (upset factor 7), though Oolong won the runback in the top 8 qualifier, and #144 seedAvail made a similar upset, defeating #16 seedDexter 2-1 (upset factor 7), though Dexter went on to place just under his seed. Finally, the #1 seedMr.E also underperformed, losing to #8 seedChugs 2-3 prior to top 8 (upset factor 5) before falling to Oolong in Losers Round 1 0-3 (upset factor 4) for 7th.

Despite being aMD/VA event, Grand Finals was fought between twoNorth Carolina players,Endothia and Chugs. Due to the event going past midnight and both players residing hours away from the venue, they initially chose to only play a single game, with Chugs goingCaptain Falcon instead of his main, but was forced to complete the rest of the set. The subsequent games led the commentators to question whether the players were taking the set seriously. Endothia ultimately won 3-0, winning his first and only Xanadu event.
